  1. It can be sure hard to forget that. I logically know but when it happens emotions take over and you have to retreat and take it all in.

    • I’m a bit in the dark, I’m afraid. Forget what? (Which part? The lyrics? The Scripture? Fill me in on what area like referring to. 😉)

      • I was confused as to what you were referring to (you mentioned “that”, vaguely, but I just wasn’t sure what “that” you were referring to, or what area of my post, as there were multiple areas of interest in the post (i.e. a song, lyrics, 2 different Scriptures posted, etc. So again, bringing “that” to my attention without any reference made it difficult to know what you were referring to.)

Clear on everything now, thanks. 😉

To answer your question, you may have read that wrong, I’m not sure. The Scripture we’re discussing (a fave of mine) is from Isaiah, who was a prophet of God, who often spoke prophetically *from* God, with messages (again, from God) that he was to give directly to God’s people. In this particular Scripture, God was telling Isaiah to tell His (God’s) people that “no weapon formed against them shall prosper”. It doesn’t state “…no words formed against you”, it states, “no-weapons- formed against you…”

By weapons, Isaiah was referring to actual physical weapons pertaining to battle, such as spears, javelins, and such. But God was also referring to spiritual weapons that regularly come against people that live for and follow God; such as persecution, mockery, scorn, and other attacks from the Devil and humans alike, operating from the evil of their hearts etc. and what device is used to deliver persecution and hatred? The mouth.

So really, Melinda, you may have misread the first part of that Scripture, but you were right on point about the overall message.

The mouth is absolutely a weapon, unfortunately, and can do much damage to individuals. People murder other people every day with their mouths by gnashing on them behind their backs, and trying to turn others’ hearts against the person they’re talking about.

As human beings, our mouths can be a wellspring of life that speaks peace, love, and life into others’ lives and hearts (including our own), but it can be equally destructive, pouring out hate, death, and darkness onto others with lies, deception, covert self-serving motives that hurt others, etc.

Blessings or cursings: The mouth is capable of each. And what we speak and and pour out on a daily basis, is what we ultimately become.

We become what we speak, and vice versa. I think of the Scripture, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs/KJV)

Absolutely love that scripture; I memorized that years ago and repeat it aloud multiple times throughout the day to remind myself that my words are powerful, and they can bring either death or healing, depending on which part of the heart it comes from. (Naturally, I try to focus on healing, love, positivity, blessings, etc.)

Hope that helps you to understand the overall message of that Scripture. 😉🌻

      • I don’t read the Scipture often enough but I remember the teachings well. Not exactly as they are said but the general message. I to try to focus on healing, it’s best for my soul. Have a great day.

      • That’s all that matters is the message within them. 😉
