CYANIDE & CHERRIES
I’ve been waiting for a long time to do this!
I have a totally badass friend who’s an amazing writer. I actually wanted to review her book- Colour Me In Cyanide & Cherries – as I promised her I would when I purchased a copy a wee bit ago. However, there are no words that can do this collection of writings justice, and I would feel stupid trying to.

You can click here if you’d like to check it out or pick up a copy, and I can’t recommend it enough; makes for excellent anytime-of-day-or-night reading.
Here’s a partial sample and one of my personal favourite’s, “Nine of Hearts”:

She’s a busy gal and in the process of publishing her second magazine (more on that later), so if you’d like to support her, I won’t insult her body of work by throwing up a donation tab, but I will encourage one and all to grab a copy of this most excellent (and complete) collection of poems, prose, and musings. Take my word for it: It is fantastic.
Thank you for any and all support! xx

Yeah, man. (And she packs 236 pages of her writings into this book for less than $16; It’s a heckuva deal. ) So very worth it. Apart from them being beautifully written, there’s a Renaissance romanticism that most of then carry throughout. Healing stuff!

Heyy, that’s me up there! Thank you so much for sharing my book, it made my day ❤ Knowing a piece of me is sitting on some shelves and coffee tables is still very surreal, even though it has been years. What makes me really happy is knowing you pick it up sometimes and read it, cannot even describe how much, so thank you – a million times over! ❤

Every single piece of written word within is ART. I asked Josh to read “Nine of Hearts” out loud, which he did, and he too got full body chills. (Your writing and words have that effect on people.) I can’t read anything you write without chills just flooding my body- it’s intense! Honoured to have it, O! 😉xx

I love hearing that honestly, because I have asked one of my best friends to read some of them outloud – and he complained that they are nice yet too dark!

Too dark. <<< 😂 Oh my. Then he really wouldn’t wanna see my photos or read my song lyrics…ha. Most everything I write about (lyrically) involves Blood, darkness, death, pain, suffering and sorrow- BUT- life, love, resurrection, joy, renewal, and birth, etc. a well balanced sword-walk. 😉 We have to go through the darkest of darks to get to the light, no? 😉 That’s the rules! 😁 Anyway, do I see your work as dark? Absolutely! Do I see it as light and redemption? Absolutely! It is *everything *; all-encompassing, and necessarily so, and beautiful! Entirely of a different era- Elizabethan- and wildly romantic. In short, truly a magnificent body of work. And yes, it’s one of my most prized possessions. Never forget that! xx
