Unhappy Customer
It’s 3:10 a.m. and I’ve just finished up 7 hours of Statistics. Why 7 hours you might ask? Because my professor was unable to get our class up and running for the whole first week (and our corresponding online homework site) and it set us back a week. Rather than move our schedule up by a week, he’s left the due date for 100+ 3 and 4 part math problems (some taking a 10 minute completion for one problem) at Sept. 6th at midnight. I was only able to access the site 3 days ago, so this left me trying to complete a GAZILLION freaking problems today. I actually managed this insane task- barely. (My only other option was to drop the course and that ain’t happening.)
Rather than sleep, I’m going to jump right into my assignments in my other classes, because:
a.) They’re due today by midnight, and
b.) Who needs sleep anyway?!
The good thing about this schedule is that you’re both too busy and distracted to be depressed.
Josh hasn’t had a day off in more than a month: We see each other in passing these days. We still managed to sneak in a dinner date last night at the river where we dined on Vietnamese just before midnight.
I need a freaking vacation already…
aww man . . . that sucks. Hope that professor redeems himself but that is a terrible way to start a class. Stories like that are hard to hear, but sadly too many just phone in in such disconnected ways. Well kudos to you for doing the impossible. I am a crabby zombie without my sleep, but wow~ you did it and got it done. School is hard but boner moves like that professors’s make it all the worst. Glad you had time to regroup and rest over summer, at least you put something in your tank. I know it’s hard to turn off the head after a long cram session. Hang in there B. Be sure to give feedback on this professor at the end of this class, I know at our school, they take that feedback very seriiously. xx

You know, Y, he’s a really likable guy! Great personality, so I’m willing to overlook this whole thing. If it happens again…er…not so much…heh. Hey, what are you doing up night owl?! Wait, it’t Sunday, right? (Yes, I have to ask. 😉 )
I’m actually still going at it. Two assignments down now + 6 discussion board postings + 75 math problems and 12 hours later. I’m going to be done in two more hours and then I’ll take an Ambien (at 7 a.m.) and wake up 2 and start at it again.
But hey, that said, I’m doing well and I appreciate the support- as always! (I’m a crabby zombie without my sleep too, by the way. Ha.)

Sounds harsh.

Oh yeah… (Crashing out after almost 15 hours straight. UGH.)

From one mature student to another, awaiting the start of her college year (it’s a week late) all I can say is they better not try to pull a stunt like that! Sure, they’re all likable, but fergodzake, you are paying good money to buy a product – they dropped the ball! Hope this is an isolated issue for you.

You know,Mag, I was sooooo close to dropping the course. Not because I didn’t think I could do it, but because the professor (who’s a doctor) didn’t have it in him to extend us an extra week! It’s academic masochism! And you’re right. When we pay what we pay to go to school, at least be ON TIME and professional, yeah? And if not, we should be comped. Just like with bad restaurant service. 😉 (And I am the comp. queen!)
Good luck to you in your studies! That’s awesome. 🙂

Yay for the dinner date! Hello light at the end of the tunnel.

YES. 🙂 I can feel my sanity creeping back into my head…heheh.

Holy crap! I hope you get a vacation or a break, soon! If anyone can handle insane tasks with grace, I believe it’s you.
Sending lots of love and sanity your way! ❤

Thanks a mill, Amy! I’m at 25 hours of schoolwork with a 4 hour break/nap in between, but hey, I’m allllllmost finished. (For this week.) At 15 credit hours per semester I should have my B.S. in Psychology in under two years. (80 credit hours transferred in from my Associates- whew!)
I want you to know that you’re one of my biggest inspirations for even pursuing this degree. Your back history is similar to my own and it’s a personal triumph to even study this area. 😉 (By the way, I still can’t see the word AMYgdala without thinking of you- haha…)

Wow. That might be one of the best, most bad ass things I’ve ever heard! What an honor to be thought of, even remotely, as an inspiration for you pursuing this! I hope I am not overdoing it…your comment just made me feel very honored. Thank you 🙂
P.S. I am also super over-joyed to know that you can appreciate my AMYgdala joke!
xoxo

Absolutely. :0) And yes, you really are! I’m just itching to know which is the lie from the 4 truths, by the way. It’s really tempting to do that too. I’m on the edge of my seat here! 🙂
